Notre Dame High School Students recently gained the opportunity to demonstrate their public speaking skills by participating in a speech contest sponsored by the Modern Woodmen of America.

Students competing in the contest shared their presentations on this year’s topic, “Inventions that have improved the quality of life.” Will Behrens won the competition, Joseph Morphew finished second, and Mary Korn was third. Also participating were Gracie Backus, Anthony Cava, Erin Frosch, Zyla Lanham, Annie McKeen, Anthony Rogers, James Simon, and Kimberley Trenn.

The Modern Woodmen school speech contest is one of many free youth educational programs the organization offers to schools nationwide. More than 100,000 students compete in the contest annually.
