The 84th National Catholic Swimming Championships were held at Loyola University on January 18-19. There were over 500 swimmers from 43 Catholic High Schools representing 11 states. This was the first time that a Catholic school from West Virginia had participated. Notre Dame sent two swimmers with qualifying times. Senior, Steven Groves II placed 50th in the 50 yard Freestyle and 45th in the 100 yard Breaststroke. Sophomore, Caitlin Oltman qualified for the National B Finals in two events finishing 10th in the 100 Freestyle and 16th in the 500 Freestyle. Both swimmers posted personal best times and represented Notre Dame well. This prestigious national event has hosted former Olympians and medal winners. It was a great honor for our swimmers to represent Notre Dame and the state of West Virginia.
