The Notre Dame National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society started the Hometown Hero program a few years ago to honor those individuals in our school family and school community that really go above and beyond for our students, and school as a whole. This year the students chose Diane Cork ’71 and Bub Squires as hometown heroes.

Diane Cork, or as the students affectionately call her “Aunt Di,” is a 1971 graduate of Notre Dame and has certainly not forgotten her alma mater. She helped fund and install the chair lift that is at Notre Dame and is always someone that the school can count to judge a Science or Social Studies Fair, chaperone a field trip, help with Catholic Daughters, or anything we need.

Bub Squires has worked in the maintenance department at Notre Dame since 2016 and has certainly made a positive impact. He takes care of not only the students, but the faculty and staff as well. He built the robotics lab, and has made other great improvements to the school. He does everything with a smile on his face.
