Notre Dame High School announced Taylor Nicholas as its Aquinas Medal Recipient recently. Every Catholic School in West Virginia chooses someone to receive this award from the highest grade level in the school. The Aquinas Medal is named after St. Thomas Aquinas, the Patron Saint of Scholars, who was distinguished by his keen intellect and by his commitment to the love and service of God. These students are representative of the outstanding quality of Catholic schools across the Diocese. Students are selected not only for their academic endeavors, but more importantly, for their modeling of the Gospel values that are so integral within the mission of Catholic schools, as well as the 3 R’s: reverence, respect, and responsibility. Taylor will receive her award at the Bishop’s Dinner on April 6 in Morgantown. Taylor is a member of St. James Church and is the daughter of Pat & Rose Nicholas.
