Carson Cunningham graduated from Notre Dame in 2012 before attending West Virginia Wesleyan College where she was a member of the WVWC women’s swim team and member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Carson graduated from WVWC in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and was admitted into the Graduate School of Political Management at The George Washington University.

She moved to Washington, D.C. where she started the GSPM program with a focus in strategic public relations and her career with United Bank. Eight months into her job, she was offered an incredible opportunity to work on Capitol Hill. She left her job at United Bank and has spent the last year working for United States Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV). She started in Senator Capito’s office as a staff assistant where she acted as the front line of the office, communicating daily with West Virginia constituents and visitors of the Senator. Carson was fortunate to meet many powerful people during this position including Secretary of Treasury, Steve Mnuchin, Ivanka Trump, Secretary of Homeland Security, Kirstjen Nielsen any many more. Shy of her year mark, she was promoted to legislative correspondent where she corresponded daily on behalf of the Senator to constituents back in the state. She left her position on Capitol Hill after a year and three months to pursue her dream of working in public relations.

During her last months in D.C. she graduated from The George Washington University with a Master’s in Public Relations. She got a job working for Sunshine Sachs, a full-service communication and public relations firm. She spent a month working in D.C. before being transferred to New York City.
